Your not sure where to begin. Steven Covey said it best: “Begin with the end in mind.”  Where you begin depends on where you want to go.

Dear Friend

Did you ever day dream at an early age and imagine what your future life would be?  I did as I suspect many others have.

We are all shaped by a number of key events in our lives that are either positive or challenging.  We are the sum total of our experiences in life and how we either react or respond to them. This helps frame our values and rules and guides us in life and who we ultimately become.

My father used to box and play football for the Navy.  I was influenced by his boxing training and from an early age I wanted to teach martial arts, get married and have two children and live in the country.

Life does not always work out the way we planned so we have to adjust and stay the course.

Martial arts played a significant part of my life

Well I am happily married with six children!  So I got a part of this right, the martial arts though did play a significant part in my life.  I went on to study and train in Chinese boxing followed by Lau Gar Kung Fu, Jeet Kune Do and finally Wu-Su kung Fu.  I ended up instructing in two styles and maintained this fanatically for over twenty years.

However life gets in the way with a family and business.  I sadly had to stop taking classes and just maintained a personal program of health and fitness.

I was at a time in my life in my late twenties where you start to ask yourself where am I going with my life and got trapped in what felt like a safe time warp.

Change came about with one of those surreal moments in life when I came across purely by chance in a shop a book by Tom Hopkins on "Goal Planning" someone had put this back book in the wrong section! This book inspired me so much I rewrote the entire book in pencil and had me as the central character. I wrote personal goals that were reinforced by me WRITING THEM DOWN. I changed career as a result of my new thinking and entered the Financial Services Sector. One major goal was to be the top manager in this company in 10 years. I started off knocking doors and It took me 14 years to be the top manager in the company - but what a journey of personal growth! At its peak the company had 4,000 managers and consultants working out of 126 offices. We were one of the largest Financial Services groups in the world with assets in excess of 70 billion pounds. I left in the mid-nineties to pursue my own business interests and also acted as a Consultant to sales companies. I taught them how to market and provide a good customer care service.

If you always put limits on everything you do, physically or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits, there are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. Bruce Lee

Life sometimes decides that your happy bubble needs to burst and that you need a change! One particular life changing key event set me on a different path. My brother Colin was diagnosed with cancer and only given so long to live. Only if the hospital were able to operate and follow up with various treatments could they prolong his life.

To cut a long story short we looked at alternative treatments and this finally took us out to Mexico so my brother could be treated under the Gerson therapy.  I stayed with Colin for nearly three weeks to learn about the treatments.  This was basically re-building the body’s immune system to heal itself.   There were many courses to attend at the clinic on various areas of health, which I took full advantage of at the Gerson Clinic.

My brother survived and went on to run in various tri-marathons raising funds for charities.  He had a great  attitude and now he trains young boxers to give them purpose in life. I’m very proud of my brother.

In 2005 I had my own serious health challenge similar to my brothers. I immediately went on to detox my body that included daily sessions in a infrared sauna with the correct exercise and eating healthy natural foods. This was to change my life and my journey.

Time out a much needed family break with my wife and two younger children. We are on Anna Maria Island in Florida.

My next big career Timeshare

My next big career challenge was Timeshare, this was introduced to me by way of a family friend. My family loved holidaying as we felt it was essential to take time out together. We spent a week with a friend in a resort and were very impressed. I discovered that there was an Industry behind this that appeared, with a few exceptions, stuck in a time warp. It did appear, in the nineties, to be a little rudderless as an Industry. There just seemed to be so many splintered groups caught up in their own agendas and personal issues.

I became more involved in Timeshare as I felt that there was room for change and that the Industry could be doing a lot more for the Timeshare owner and changing the public's perception of what is a great Industry.

Albert Einstein said, "The only source of knowledge is experience."

Read more about my timeshare experiences and how I have tried to change an Industry with solutions that have been presented to the EU commission. This has led to me to have my own series on SKY TV and introduced as an expert in this Industry. http://www.timeshareweekly.com/skytv

Where am I know?

I am still providing a service for holidays and timeshare but my true core area of interest in my life is health and fitness. I have used my knowledge to suggest guidelines of health and fitness to friends. A good friend of mine had a real health challenge with cancer and the treatments with chemo and radiation had exhausted her. When she contacted me she could barely walk so I suggesting a gradual health and fitness program for her.  We started a daily program to rebuild her immune system this was all done by email every day for a year as Anne lived a couple hundred miles away from me. From being a cancer sufferer and not able to walk for more than 10 minutes without exhausting herself just 12 months later Anne ran in the London marathon. This will demonstrate no matter how grim life may appear if you work on your attitude and want to change anything is possible

'I will not let age change me. I will change the way I age"

Prevention is better than cure. We are now in a place where knowledge and technology brings us a step closer to disease prediction! We have all heard of the professional athlete that looked great but sadly just dropped down dead! They did not know what was going on within their own bodies and thats with all the support they get from coaches and professional nutritionists.

How do you know what’s happening in your body?

I asked myself these questions – have you?

  • How do I know that the nutrition pills or potions/creams are truly benefiting me?
  • I would like to know that lifestyle changes I make are really bringing about positive benefits?
  • Is the fitness program that I am working is it right for me?
  • Is this healthy diet really working for me?

I have been asked why I am doing this for health and timeshare freely? It started off many years ago when I started receiving emails and comments like “Hi thanks for your guidance we could not have done this without your help”

"Most People do not listen with the intent to understand. They Listen with the intent to reply" Stephen R Covey

For me they are connected and have a role to play in life as taking time out with loved ones is good for your health, as you will see when you read about the forthcoming area on Gray Power as this evolves http://www.timeshareweekly.com/index.asp?bid=194 Timeshare I believe play’s an important part in our lives as it commits us to taking time out strengthening our bonds with those we care about.

The big picture for me is adding value to people’s lives and perhaps influencing in a small way a change and how we can create a better way of living a life as so many of us get caught up in life’s daily rituals.

If I can get people to see how they can make a difference and they act on this, than that is all that really matters in the end.

Best wishes,

Graham
